Marquis Mills Converse opened the
Converse Rubber Shoe Company in Malden, Massachusetts in 1908 specialising in winter footwear for icy conditions. Using the same vulcanised rubber gripped sole technology, it introduced a tennis shoe in 1915, followed by the All Star basketball trainer two years later. This low-top version is modelled on the original 1950s edition and updated with a gold branded tongue and matching lace eyelets.
