In 1971 a famous wine professor visited Daumas Gassac and after only a day walking round the Domaine he likened the soil to the best in Burgundy's Côte d'Or. ‘It's quite possible to make a Grand Cru here’ he told them and from that day Véronique and Aimé Guibert have strived to do just that. Gassac Rouge is big wine made from predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon that takes time to come round, but it will reward the keeper when it does.
