Elton John is as famous for his iconic sunglasses and sequinned outfits as he is for chart-topping songs. At The Corner Shop, we’re displaying three of Elton’s most legendary stage looks, including the ‘Birds of a Feather’ look from 1973, created by Bill Whitten’s Workroom 27, and the ‘Yellow Brick Road’ set by designer Annie Reavey. Also on show is the suit created by Hollywood tailor Nudie Cohn that Elton wore for his 1973 appearance on Top of the Pops.
At the centre of The Corner Shop sits a grand piano, a giant gold disco ball and a dressing table where you can try on Elton John Eyewear designs (and shop them too). Lining the walls are framed prints and photographs documenting the star’s illustrious career. To celebrate the forthcoming Honky Château 50th Anniversary Edition, The Corner Shop will also be the only physical retailer stocking the limited-edition gold LP version of the seminal album. Available on release day, 24 March, 100 signed gold vinyls will be available on a first come, first served basis.
