Founder Evelyne Chetrite spent her early years in Morocco, where her grandfather made shirts for a living – an upbringing that ignited her love of textiles. After she moved to Paris, she worked in vintage shops and garnered a loyal following of clientele who were hungry for her superior eye for fabrics. From there, she began creating her own designs and established Sandro in 1984, specialising in city-ready apparel that fused the earthy colours of Africa with romantic French shaping. Today's range continues to be characterised by its flattering fit and warm colour palette. You'll notice Sandro tops and dresses with self-tie belts, blouson sleeves and neat lapel collars styled in burnt orange, ochre and sandy yellows.
