THE BEAUTY INSIDER:
OUR FAVOURITE NEW BEAUTY UPGRADES
Summer beauty launches are always our favourite here at Selfridges; there are so many shimmering highlighters, decadent body oils and Instagram-worthy eyeshadow palettes to choose from. Here, our beauty personal shopper Rose Gallagher shares the 10 new products she's most excited about.
The lighter-than-air foundation
If you can't bear the feeling of foundation on your skin in the summer but still want a bit of coverage, MAC's new Next to Nothing Foundation is a banker. Boasting an ultra-lightweight, slightly balmy texture, apply the formula with your fingertips for a veil of colour or use a brush to intensify the pigment. Either way, the radiant finish is spot on - just dewy enough without ever going greasy.
The DIY base
Brand new to Selfridges, these game-changing pure-pigment bronzing drops from Cover FX help you to create your ideal glow. Use alone for a light strobing effect, mix one to two drops with your favourite serum for a sheer, radiant finish, or add four drops to a rich face cream for those days when you need full coverage. Genius.
Highlight for a subtle glow
Face highlighters are the perfect way to add radiance to a tired complexion, and these new Yves Saint Laurent Glow Shots (available in three shades) provide a natural, dewy glow for all skin types. Use along the cheekbones and décolletage with a light layer of BB cream, or mix into your favourite foundation to create a softer formula for spring.
The does-everything eye palette
Ever found yourself desperately trying to scrape up the last of your favourite eye palette colour while the others remain completely untouched? Us too. But that's about to change, thanks to Too Faced's Funfetti Palette. Boasting 12 totally wearable new hues - a mix of matte and shimmer shades, ranging from champagne to charcoal flecked with gold - work the mattes into the socket of your eye to naturally enhance the hollows, adding the shimmery powders to your lids for a pop of colour.
The perfect summer blush
If you are always in search of the perfect blush, seek no more. The combination of rose and bronze shades in Urban Decay's new Basquiat blush palette (exclusive to Selfridges) is ideal for creating a natural sun-kissed complexion. Use the bronze shade wherever you want some depth; then add a very soft sweep of pink to give it a natural warmth.
The only hydrator your summer skin needs
There's something about coconut – one of the key notes in Tom Ford's luxe new Soleil Blanc shimmering body oil – that instantly transports you to white sandy beaches. The ultra-smooth formula softens the skin and adds luminosity, while also creating the illusion of slimmer, longer limbs. Sold.
The butt-plumping lotion
For those wanting a pert derrière (yep, that's us), look no further than this behind-enhancing Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. Its hero ingredient is guaraná, an Amazonian fruit that is packed with a very potent form of caffeine to stimulate blood flow and wage war on cellulite. The addition of coconut oil and cupuacu butter ensures skin looks and feels smoother and tighter, while the heavenly scent makes it totally addictive.
The sweet-scented SPF
Of all the things to expect from your SPF, the sweet scent of your favourite cocktail isn't usually one of them. That's why we love COOLA's all-natural Piña Colada spray. Made with 97 per cent organic plant ingredients and infused with pineapple and coconut, the sunblock is translucent and the convenient spray helps to reach all those awkward areas you'd otherwise miss.
The summer scent switch-up
A change of perfume is the perfect way to celebrate the change of season, and Sospiro's Erba Gold fragrance is our top summer spritz. Not only does it boast one of the best bottles of the season (created exclusively for Selfridges nonetheless), but it also combines zingy Sicilian orange and lemon with warmer notes of amber and musk, making it a fresh and vibrant choice for hotter climes. And the best bit? It smells just as good on men as it does on women.
Not just another liquid lipstick
With the ease of application of a gloss, the pigment of a lipstick and the staying power of a stain, MAC's new Pro Longwear Lustre Lipcolour combines everything you could ever want from a lip product. Our favourite shade? It has to be the gorgeous pinky For Keeps.
