GIVE ME FIVE:
FASHION WEEK'S FOREVER TRENDS
The fashion week streets may see an extravagant display of style 'peacocking', but when it comes to the editors on the front row, it's often a much more understated affair. From Vogue fashion director Sarah Harris' enviable denim uniform to Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt's penchant for head-to-toe black, these fashion insiders know the power of true wardrobe essentials. In the spirit of our current sustainability campaign, Material World, here's our rundown of our favourite street-style stars and their signature looks that will never go out of fashion.

Sarah Harris has found a formula that works for her, and she's sticking to it. She rarely strays from beautifully fitting blue jeans – her go-to denim labels are Paige and MiH – which she wears with chunky knits, shirts and standout jackets. We love that Sarah's regularly spotted in the same jeans throughout fashion week, proving with aplomb that true personal style doesn't require a Narnia-sized wardrobe.
Emmanuelle Alt has the whole French insouciance/rock-star girlfriend thing down to a tee. Often stepping out in head-to-toe black, her style hallmarks are boyish ankle-grazing trousers, silk shirts and polished blazers (courtesy of the likes of Balmain and J Brand). But don't mistake her brand of modern minimalism for simplicity; from the cut of the silhouettes to the subtle designer details, her look is as quietly considered as it is understated.
Caroline Issa, the well-heeled fashion director at Tank magazine, is known for her easy, elegant style. She always packs a great suit for the fashion week circuit – the pieces of which can be worn together or separately to unlock infinite outfit options (her favourite brands: Marni, Tod's and Emilio Pucci). Choose a timeless silhouette (a single-breasted jacket and straight-leg, slightly cropped trousers get our vote) and it'll be your go-to power outfit for years to come.
Digital entrepreneur and perennial street-style darling Miroslava Duma is a walking masterclass in effortless style. Her secret? She chooses a colour and wears it head-to-toe. Simple, right? Miroslava expertly demonstrates complementary shades of tan (an impossibly chic option and more dry-cleaning-bill-friendly than white), but navy, grey and even khaki or burgundy (if you're feeling adventurous) are also timeless choices.
Androgynous separates and trainers may be the style du jour, but Nicole Warne, founder of fashion and lifestyle site Gary Pepper Girl, proves that a beautiful dress and a great pair of heels will never lose their appeal. Sporting slinky slips and big what's-under-me coats (often accessorised with her signature red lips), Nicole embraces her feminine wiles with the utmost sophistication.
