MKI MIYUKI-ZOKU Men's

Founded in Leeds in 2010, the youthful MKI Miyuki Zoku brand may be Yorkshire-based – but its spirit goes back to 1960s Japan. The original Miyuki Zoku (pronounced 'mee-you-key zo-ku') were a Japanese subculture formed in the summer of 1964. These fashion-conscious youths were known to congregate in the upscale shopping district of Miyuki Street in Ginza, downtown Tokyo. It was photos of these youngsters, who were first in Japan to embrace America’s Ivy League dress style, that inspired Vik Tailor to start up his own street clothing label.

You’ll find plenty of that preppy influence revived in MKI Miyuki Zoku’s casualwear collections. Classic silhouettes like shell jackets and quarter-zip hoodies are updated with contemporary cuts and fabrics, fusing 1960s America collegiate themes with 21st-century streetwear. Think relaxed-fit cuts, metallic typography and neutral block colourways, finished off with details like zip cuffs and stand-up collars for an undoubtedly clean-cut style.

With an ethos centred around high-quality, fashion-led clothing in practical styles, MKI puts everyday wearability at the heart of its collections. Keep things comfy in a pair of chunky varsity shorts, or smarten up with an understated zip-up work jacket in a boxy silhouette. We’re big fans of cosying up in thick, long-sleeved MKI Miyuki Zoko sweatshirts, stamped with the brand’s distinctive moniker across the chest. Team it with chinos and let the compliments roll in.
