With every creation he conjured, Alexander McQueen celebrated the strength of women, presenting Joan of Arc ringed in lava-hot flames or imperial queens draped in Victorian jewels. And, for her final collection as Creative Director of the house, Sarah Burton honours one of Britain’s most enduring heroines, the blood red rose. Plucked from the line-up, these trousers are fashioned to a high-rise waist and fall to a sweeping wide-leg silhouette, patterned with an antique-inspired iteration of the emblematic bloom.
