Wales Bonner

Grace Wales Bonner set up her eponymous fashion label in 2014 after graduating from Central Saint Martins, where she is now an associate lecturer. Our collection shows off the best of her innovative work; the result of a wealth of academic interests, from history to critical theory.

Along with collaborative artistic projects, short films and working with Dior and adidas, Grace Wales Bonner also finds time to build collections inspired by styles from past decades and by her British and Jamaican heritage. Identity is a key theme. Graphic T-shirts might reference music scenes from 1980s Burkina Faso, or be decorated with specially commissioned artwork celebrating the vitality of orchestral jazz.

Colourful unisex styles are a key component of the label's collections, ranging from patterned athleisure wear to attention-grabbing multicoloured scarves. Wales Bonner shirts often marry fine Italian tailoring and classic cuts with bold and vibrant hues inspired by the Earth and the sun. For a typically off-centre look at formalwear, Wales Bonner jackets come in casual fabrics such as tough denim, leather or contrasting linens.
