Project Ocean fish guide

About this guide

Research suggests that unless we change the way we fish and the seafood we eat, global stocks will be fully depleted within the next generation.

You can help make a difference by using this fish guide when shopping for fish or eating at restaurants. When at Selfridges you can always be sure that we do not sell any red-rated fish in our Foodhalls or restaurants.

How to use this guide

You can eat

Fish to eat

These fish are from sustainable fisheries and well managed farms that have minimal impact on other species and marine habitat. We sell many of these in store.

You can't eat

Fish to avoid

These fish are from unsustainable, over-fished or poorly managed fisheries - or they may have high levels of by-catch (fish that's caught unintentionally and then thrown back dead).
