Dyson's DC34 Animal handheld vacuum cleaner is designed specially for homes with pets. It has a run time of 15 minutes, or 13 minutes with a powerful motorised brush bar attached to remove pet hair and ground-in dirt. There's also Boost mode - six minutes of extra suction for tough cleans. DC34 Animal is powered by the Dyson digital motor and has Dyson's patented Root Cyclone technology for no loss of suction.

Root Cyclone technology
Some conventional vacuum cleaners use a bag that can clog and cause suction to drop. Dyson vacuums use Root Cyclone technology. Powerful centrifugal forces spin dust and dirt out of the air and into the bin, with no loss of suction.

Dyson digital motor
Michael Faraday discovered electromagnetic induction, the principle behind the electric motor, in 1831. Yet, despite being technologically advanced at the time, electric motors have changed very little since. Bulky, old-fashioned components and lots of moving parts prone to failure. Dyson engineers spent a decade developing new types of highly efficient digital motors. The Dyson digital motor is smaller, lighter, cleaner and more power-efficient than conventional electric motors. Dyson digital motors use digital pulse technology, spinning at up to 104,000 times a minute (five times faster than a racing car engine).

Dual power mode
Dual power mode gives you two power options. 15 minutes of high, constant suction for longer tasks. Or six minutes on Boost mode for tougher cleans.

Motorised brush bar
The motorised brush bar is housed in tough ABS polycarbonate. Its stiff nylon bristles spin up to 60 times per second for spot cleaning of dirt and pet hair from upholstery, stairs and the car.

Lightweight and ergonomic
Weighs just 1.3kg, with balanced weight distribution for easy handling.

Lithium-ion battery
Releases charge evenly with no drop off. Recharges in 3.5hrs, up to three times faster than others.

Hygienic and quick to empty
Just push the button to release the dirt. The bin on a Dyson handheld is clear, so you can see when it needs emptying and how much dust and dirt the machine has captured.

    You can return goods to Selfridges online or to any of our stores free of charge within 14 days of delivery. Products must be returned unused, in a saleable condition, and in their original packaging with any labels still attached.
