Welcome to Selfridges.com. By using this website you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions set out below. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions in their entirety please leave this website.
The www.selfridges.com website is provided solely for your personal use. You may not use this website for any commercial purpose.
You will purchase your goods from Selfridges Retail Limited. You will separately be purchasing delivery services from either Selfridges EU Deliveries Limited ("SEDL") or Selfridges Worldwide Deliveries Limited ("SWDL"). See below for more details.
These terms and conditions will apply to all orders delivered and are in addition to the general terms and conditions which together govern your contract with us for the sale of the products and your contract with SEDL (for EU deliveries) or SWDL (for non-EU deliveries
References in these Terms and Conditions to "we", "us" and "Selfridges" are to Selfridges Retail Limited, Registered in England, company number 97117, Registered Office: 400 Oxford Street London W1A 1AB.
References in these Terms and Conditions to "SEDL" are to Selfridges EU Deliveries Limited, Registered in England, company number 4318373, Registered Office: 400 Oxford Street London W1A 1AB. If you are ordering products from us and have requested delivery to an address within the European Union, SEDL will contract with you to provide international delivery of your goods to you.

1. Online Shopping
1.1 We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, prices, photographic representations and descriptions of products appearing on the website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the appearances, colours, textures or finishes of our products that appear on the website. What you see will depend on your monitor and computer equipment, we are therefore unable to guarantee that the product images are an accurate representation of the actual merchandise. Please refer to our Returns Policy if you are unhappy with your purchase.
1.2 We will not be liable if for any reason the Selfridges website is unavailable at any time or for any period. From time to time, we may restrict access to some parts or all the Selfridges website.
2. Age restrictions
We cannot sell knives, products containing alcohol and products containing tobacco to persons under the age of 18. Proof of ID maybe requested when ordering these products. We will not deliver alcohol/knives/tobacco to anyone who is, or appears to be, under the age of 18, as applicable. We cannot sell the following products to anyone under the age of 16: Chocolate liquors; Christmas crackers/cracker snaps; and party poppers, and we will not deliver these products to anyone who is or appears to be, under the age of 16.Games and DVDs cannot be sold to anyone under the age certificate specified on the product.
If you have purchased an age-restricted product and have ordered using the Selfridges Click & Collect service, proof of ID maybe requested upon collection.
By placing an order for these products, you are confirming that you are of legal age and that the information you provide is truthful and correct. It is an offence to attempt to buy restricted products if under age or to purchase one for someone else who is under age.
3. Order process
3.1 All orders that you place on this website will be subject to acceptance in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
3.2 Non-acceptance of your order may be due to any one or more of the following non-exhaustive reasons:
- The product you ordered is out of stock;
- Our inability to obtain authorisation for your payment;
- We have identified a pricing or product description error;
- There is a failure to meet the eligibility to order as set out at clause 2 in these Terms and Conditions;
- There is a system or procurement failure; and
- Failed customer validation checks.
- Legal restrictions or practices for products in the country you have selected which prevents SEDL or SWDL fulfilling your order for delivery;
- Other restrictions for the country you have selected which prevents SEDL or SWDL fulfilling your order for delivery.
3.3 When you place an order on our website we shall email you an acknowledgement detailing the product you have ordered. This email is not an order confirmation or order acceptance from Selfridges.
3.4 Acceptance of your order for goods and the completion of the contract between you and Selfridges will take place when your goods are dispatched by your carrier: we will email you that your goods have been dispatched. We reserve the right to fulfill multiple orders separately, which may mean they are dispatched separately by your carrier.
If you have ordered using the Selfridges Click & Collect Service, we will email you to confirm that your order is ready for collection.
3.5 A gift message facility is available on certain orders and is available for your own personal and strictly non-commercial use. We do not take any responsibility for the contents of messages communicated by you to a third party. Where you use this facility you agree that your message will not include any content that could be construed as defamatory, abusive, obscene, racist, offensive, harassing, threatening, vulgar or which could cause embarrassment or distress to any person. You agree not to impersonate any person, including but not limited to any of our employees or customers. The gift message facility is currently only available in the Latin alphabet with standard characters.
4.1 You may request international delivery by SEDL or SWDL by selecting the international delivery option at the end of the checkout process, and by specifying a delivery address outside the UK. In doing so, you will be contracting separately with SEDL (for EU deliveries) or SWDL (for non-EU deliveries) and all delivery arrangements are made between you and them.
4.2 All parcels will be delivered by your carrier and will require a signature on delivery. If no one is at home when your carrier attempts to deliver your parcel, they will leave a card with a contact number for you to arrange a new delivery date.
4.3 Please note that your delivery may take longer during sale or other busy periods.
4.4 Your order will be accepted by Selfridges when the products are collected on your behalf by the relevant delivery company from Selfridges for delivery to your chosen address. Completion of the contract between you and SEDL (for EU deliveries) or SWDL (for non-EU deliveries) will take place when the goods have been delivered or there have been at least three attempts to deliver the goods to your chosen address.
Risk of loss and damage of products passes to you on the date when the products are delivered.
In the UK only, you can have goods from the same order shipped to multiple addresses. Select this option at checkout and click on the 'Edit' buttons in your shopping basket to select an address for each item.
4.5 For most of our products you can choose to arrange delivery to an address outside of the UK. Where restrictions apply due to logistical or brand restrictions, SEDL or SWDL will not be able to provide international delivery services to you. Please refer to individual product pages to see if this applies to any of your selected products.
Payment, VAT and Non-EU Customs
4.6 Payment is to be made in pounds Sterling. International credit card providers or banks will determine the exchange rate, and may add an additional processing or administration charge which you will be liable to pay.
4.7 All product prices shown on the website are inclusive of any applicable UK VAT.
4.8 Where you have requested delivery to a non-EU address, the price paid by you to Selfridges for your product will not be subject to UK VAT. All taxes, duties, fees, levies or other charges levied outside the EU will be added to your order total at checkout and paid by SWDL and its partner carrier to local customs authorities in the delivery country on your behalf.
4.9 You will be the importer for all international deliveries of the products. Therefore, before placing an order for goods, it is your responsibility to check that your import of any products ordered comply with state and federal government import regulations, and that there are no local requirements or restrictions which may affect receipt of your order.
International Delivery Charges
4.10 We will notify you of the delivery charge made by SEDL or SWDL to you at the time we acknowledge your order for goods. We will collect those delivery charges on behalf of SEDL and/or SWDL from you when we collect payment from you for your order for goods. For bespoke or special delivery items a communication of any additional delivery cost may be made.
4.11 You will be charged for deliveries within the EU by SEDL under your contract with them. The delivery charge will include UK VAT.
4.11.1 You will be charged for deliveries outside the EU by SWDL under your contract with them. The delivery charge will not include UK VAT.
International Delivery Lead Times
4.12 Delivery lead times to international addresses will vary according to destination. Please see our Dispatch and Delivery section for more information.
4.13 Your carrier will make every effort to deliver goods within the estimated timescales. However delays are occasionally inevitable due to unforeseen factors or events outside their control, for example, material shortages, import delays or higher than anticipated demand. Selfridges shall be under no liability for any delay or failure by your carrier to deliver the products within estimated timescales.
International Delivery Destinations
4.14 Please view the list of countries section for current destinations to which SEDL and SWDL deliver.
5. Selfridges Click and Collect
5.1 Selfridges Click & Collect is a complimentary collection service available at all our stores.
5.2 The Selfridges Click & Collect service allows you to choose a collection date up to seven days in advance.
5.3 We will aim to have orders placed before 4pm available for collection the next day.
5.4 We will make every effort to make your goods available for collection within the estimated timescales. However delays are occasionally inevitable during sale or other busy periods or due to unforeseen factors or events outside our control, for example extreme weather, a flood or fire. Selfridges shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to make the products available for collection within estimated timescales.
5.5 Orders will be available for collection at a designated collection point in each store once you have received your collection email. Please see your collection confirmation email for details of where the collection point is located.
5.6 When collecting your order from store please make sure that you bring the payment card or photo ID along with your order confirmation email.
If a friend collects the order on your behalf, please make sure they have the order confirmation email and photo ID. If the order was paid by PayPal, they will need to bring the order confirmation email and your ID.
5.7 Risk of loss and damage to the goods passes to you on the date when the goods are collected by you. In the event that a friend collects the goods on your behalf, risk will pass to you on the date the goods are collected by them.
5.8 We are unable to offer the Click & Collect service on certain products including but not limited to any products stocked by the following suppliers:
- The Light Shop
- The Real Flower Company
- Apple (Square Group)
- Tek Zone
- Astley Clarke
- David Morris Fine Watches
5.9 If you fail to collect your order within 14 days of your collection date, your items will be returned to our distribution centre and will be no longer available for collection. We will aim to process a refund within 21 days of your original collection date.
5.10 Orders placed using our Click and Collect Service will be treated as a UK order and you will be unable to use the services of either SEDL or SWDL.
6. Order Cancellation
EU Customer's Right to Cancel under the Distance Selling Regulations 2000
If you are an EU customer, you have the right to cancel your order provided that you notify us in writing no later than 7 working days after the day on which your receive your products. Please see the Distance Selling Regulations section for more information.
These legal rights do not apply to non-EU customers. If you change your mind about wanting goods you have ordered, please see the general returns information at Section 7 below.
6.1 If, for any reason, you wish to cancel any order you have placed before it has been collected for dispatch by your carrier, please contact Selfridges Customer Service team here or by calling 0800 123 400 (+044 113 369 8040 from overseas).
6.2 As it is our policy to try to process orders immediately it may not always be possible to stop an order from being collected by your carrier for dispatch . After collection by your carrier for dispatch our Returns Policy at clause 7 will apply. Please note that your right to return goods does not apply to certain products as set out in clause 7.2.
6.3 We are unable to accept order cancellations for personalised, perishable or time critical goods. Please see the following list for some non-exhaustive examples:
- Goods which have been altered, or personalised to a customer's specification;
- Newspapers and magazines;
- Event tickets;
- Hampers, food, beverages and perishable goods (including flowers); and
- Beauty items including toiletries and cosmetics which have been opened, tested or partially used and which cannot be returned in the same physical state to which they were purchased; and
7. Returns Policy
7.1 We will refund or exchange any item you are not completely happy with when you return it to us in a saleable condition within 14 days of the item being delivered by your carrier to your nominated address. Please return items in their original condition, unused, in their original packaging, with garment tags and any other security devices still attached. Please do re-use the delivery packaging provided; it has been especially designed for you to do this.
7.2 We cannot refund or exchange personalised, perishable or time critical goods. Please see the following list for some non-exhaustive examples:
- Goods which have been altered, or personalised to a customer's specification;
- Newspapers and magazines;
- Event tickets;
- Hampers, food, beverages and perishable goods (including flowers);
- Beauty items including toiletries and cosmetics which have been opened, tested or partially used and which cannot be returned in the same physical state to which they were purchased;
- Audio or video recordings, games and computer software (unless they are returned with seal and packaging intact);
- e-vouchers and Gift Cards.
This does not apply to faulty or incorrectly supplied goods where your statutory rights are unaffected.
Where lingerie, swimwear, cosmetics and earrings are protected by hygiene seals, you are required to take reasonable care by not removing the hygiene seals. Refunds will not be provided in such circumstances unless the goods are faulty.
7.3 Where promotional discounts are applied to orders, the discount will be applied to each item in the basket. In the event of a return, you will not be refunded the discounted proportion. Additionally any free promotional gift given with an order must also be returned if you are returning those goods to which the gift related.
7.4 How to Return or Exchange:
Less than delighted? We won't hold it against you - and our 14 day returns policy should help ease the pain.
Please make sure that any items you would like to return are unused, in their original packaging and in a saleable condition, with any labels tags or hygiene seals still attached.
Once we have received the item(s) a refund will be issued to your credit/debit card. This will appear on your account within five days depending on your card issuer.

For EU orders, your carrier will refund the delivery charge made by them if you contact the Customer Service team here or by calling 0800 123 400 (+044 113 369 8040 from overseas) within 7 days of receipt by you of the item.
For Non-EU orders, you will not be refunded the delivery charge, or any applicable local customs duties collected from you at checkout.
How to return an item
If you have a Selfridges account:
- Sign into your account at www.selfridges.com
- Go to 'My Orders'
- Select the order number you would like to return
- Click on 'Return Items'
- Select the quantity and reason for return
- Select the individual items or 'Return all items'
- Click 'Continue'
- A returns note will be sent to your email address which you must print out and include inside your return parcel.

1. EU returns
A pre-paid returns label will be included in your original delivery parcel. On this label there will be details for contacting your carrier and their delivery partner to organise a convenient time to collect your return parcel and instructions to prepare your parcel for return.
You will not be charged by either Selfridges, your carrier or their delivery partner, for the cost of returning your items within the 14 days specified timeframe if you follow the pre-paid returns process. Returning your products through any other process (including a different carrier or postal service) may incur costs which are the responsibility of the sender and will not be reimbursed by Selfridges or your carrier.
2. Non-EU returns
Unfortunately, free returns are not available on Non-EU orders. SWDL will also not refund the original delivery charge or customs duties charged to you at checkout and paid to your local customs authority. Certain countries permit refunds of customs duties paid on goods you subsequently return. You will need to apply to your local authority to process.
Please use your local and trusted postal service for returns from non-EU countries. We recommend you use a tracked and insured services as neither Selfridges nor SWDL will be liable for any risk, loss or damage. Provided you return your products in accordance with the returns policy and the steps outlined, Selfridges will be able to refund to you the amount applicable to your product.
A returns form will be included in your original delivery parcel. This will look similar to your invoice but includes additional information for UK customs to pass your products through as a return, and additional fields for you to complete. To complete the returns process please:
- Identify which products in your order you want to return
- On the returns form, cross out any products you are not returning
- For the products you are returning, fill in the 'Units' and 'Total Value' fields which are left blank for you (this is in case you purchased multiple units of the same product)
- Fill in the 'Total value' field for the items you are returning
- Fill in the 'Returns code' field - this is provided to you when you request a return online and is included in the returns note which is sent to your email address
- A clear document envelope is provided in your delivery parcel. Place the completed returns form inside the envelope and stick this to the outside of your parcel
If the above steps are not followed, in particular if the returns form is not attached to the outside of your parcel using the included document envelope, this may result in delays in Selfridges receiving your returned products. We will not be able to process a return until we receive your products.
You can also return products to a Selfridges store. Please ensure that you bring the original delivery or collection note with you as proof of purchase. Returns will need to be processed in the Customer Services Lounge as they will not be able to be processed at our standard sales points.
Please note that your return costs will not be reimbursed. Postage or other return costs will be your responsibility and will be reimbursed by us or your carrier only in the case of damaged, faulty or incorrectly supplied goods.
You must ensure that you return the original undamaged packaging along with the item/s you are unhappy with. The goods must be returned in a saleable condition. We will consider the condition of the goods being returned before deciding whether to make a refund.
7.4.1 PayPal Returns
If you wish to return unwanted, faulty or damaged goods that were purchased via Paypal for a full refund then you must return your goods by post or courier, and we will then process a refund direct to your PayPal account. If you return products to a store, you will be given a gift card for the refunded amount.
7.5 Technology Returns
7.5.1 For all technology items including audio or video recordings, games, computer hardware and software the following refund policy applies:
If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase please return it in a saleable condition in its unopened and undamaged packaging within 14 days with your proof of purchase for a full refund (excluding any delivery or customs duty charges).
We regret the following products are entirely excluded:
- Headphones, handsfree kits, bluetooth units with ear pieces, microphones, harmonies and other products that we are unable to refund for reasons of hygiene;
- Software that has been opened or the seal has been removed;
- Ink cartridges that have been opened or the seal has been removed;
- Laptops and TFT screens with less than three dead pixels within a month of purchase;
- Products damaged by viruses, worms or other destructive programs downloaded or transferred to products by customers;
- Products containing software that is illicit or otherwise unauthorised by the software owner;
- Apple iPhone;
- Contracts or agreements that state specified terms surrounding cancellation, exchange or upgrade;
- Special order and custom made items; and
- Items that have been previously exchanged or multiple returns.
7.5.2 Technology Repairs
Products that are faulty and returned within 14 days with your proof of purchase and the original packaging will be refunded in full (excluding any delivery or customs duty charges). All other products will be subject to the manufacturer's warranty. In case of a fault please return your purchase, together with your receipt and we will arrange repairs. Selfridges cannot be held liable for any loss of time or earnings in the event of a faulty product. Customers may be liable to pay the repair charge. Items will be collected for a fee (please see our FAQs for details of fees) , which will be refunded if a fault is found. Please ensure that all stabilisers, bolts and hinges are retained until completely satisfied with purchase. These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
7.6 None of the above refund terms affect your statutory rights in the UK when goods are faulty or incorrectly supplied nor does it affect your rights under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.
7.7 Returns to third party suppliers
The Real Flower Company returns
The Real Flower Company guarantees bouquets for five days from delivery provided that the care instructions are followed. In the unlikely event that your flowers have been damaged in transit please keep the flowers and contact our Customer Services Team on 0800 123 400 (overseas callers +44 113 369 8040) within 24 hours. They will not be liable for claims reported outside of this time. Where possible they will replace the damaged flowers or offer a full refund to the purchaser.
If there is a fault found with a product within 28 days Apple will offer the choice of an exchange or a refund, once our testing has confirmed the fault. Item(s) will be picked up from the customer based in the UK and brought back to Square's offices for testing. Items should be returned complete with the original box, packaging and accessories. Any 'free gifts' received with the product must also be returned. This guarantee does not cover faults caused by accident, neglect, misuse or normal wear and tear.
All software is licensed to the customer on the terms and conditions of the applicable license agreements. These license agreements are shipped with the software. The customer is responsible for ensuring that any software ordered is suitable for their requirements and is compatible their existing systems. Apple will be unable to refund monies for an opened and installed software package unless it is faulty. If the software is still in its plastic wrapping and not tampered with, they will be able to take it back and refund.
8. Payment Methods
8.1 We only accept payment for orders in pounds (£) sterling.
8.2 We accept payment by Maestro, MasterCard, Visa, Visa Debit, American Express, Electron, PayPal and e-vouchers.
8.3 If you choose to pay for an item using a payment card with a foreign currency denominated account, the account will still be taken in pounds (£) sterling at the conversion rate applied by the relevant payment scheme at the time of processing your order.
8.4 We will take all reasonable care, in so far as it is in our power to do so, to keep the details of your purchase and payment secure, but, in the absence of negligence on our part, we will not be liable for any loss you may suffer if a third party procures unauthorised access to any data you provide when accessing or ordering from the Selfridges website. Our site uses industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to provide encryption of personal information such as your name, address and credit card details.
8.5 By making an offer to buy a product, you specifically authorise us to transmit information (including any updated information) or to obtain information about you from third parties from time to time, including, but not limited to, your debit or credit card number or credit reports, to authenticate your identity, to validate your credit card, to obtain an initial credit card authorisation and to authorise individual purchase transactions; and to your delivery carrier to enable it to arrange delivery of your goods to your selected delivery address.
9. Pricing Policy
9.1 All prices are inclusive of VAT (where applicable) at appropriate rate and are correct at the time of entering the information on to the system. Prices may change and offers may be withdrawn at any time.
9.2 Although we try to ensure all our prices displayed on our website are accurate, errors may sometimes occur. If we discover an error in the price of an item you have ordered we will contact you as soon as possible. You will have the option to reconfirm your order at the correct price or cancel it. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your order in respect of the incorrectly priced item as cancelled.
9.3 Selfridges endeavours to ensure that all merchandise offered on the website is available at the same price in store (Oxford Street, Birmingham, Manchester Exchange and Manchester Trafford). However, from time to time we may offer additional discounts for purchases online from www.selfridges.com that do not apply in stores, or vice versa. Additionally, items offered as sets on this site may not be offered as part of a set within stores and individual prices may apply.
9.4 Home Sale offers are subject to availability and may be withdrawn.
10. Product Availability / Information
10.1 We feature products on our website that have been carefully selected for sale on the Selfridges website. Once an item is sold out it will be taken off the website at the earliest opportunity and may not be available again. Prices of products may change from time to time. Goods are subject to availability. As there is a delay between the time when your order is placed, and the time when the order is accepted, the stock position relating to particular items may change. If an item you have ordered becomes out of stock before we accept the order we shall notify you as soon as possible and you will not be charged for the out of stock items.
10.2 All items are subject to availability. If, due to unforeseen circumstances or in the event of supply difficulties for example with hamper, food, beverages and perishable goods orders, it is necessary to substitute an item, the item will be of equal or greater value than that which it replaces. We will reimburse you for the cost of returning substitute goods that you do not wish to accept.
11. Copyright Policy
11.1 Copyright and other intellectual property rights in any communications, ideas, or other materials submitted or offered to us by you through on or by this website, unless specifically requested by us, shall become our property. You agree that submissions by you to this website must not risk infringing any right of any third party and in addition, you agree that no submissions by you to this website will be or contain libellous or otherwise unlawful, abusive or obscene material or constitute an invasion of privacy. As such, you are and shall remain solely responsible for the content of any submissions you make to the website.
11.2 You acknowledge and agree that the material and content contained within this website is made available for your personal non-commercial use only and that you may only download such material and content for the purpose of using this website. Accordingly, we suggest that you do not use the Selfridges website to (and agree not to assist or facilitate any third party to) copy, reproduce, transmit, publish, display, distribute, commercially exploit or create derivative works of such material and content. Nothing contained in these Terms and Conditions shall be construed as conferring any licence or right to use any trade mark, design right or copyright of the Selfridges website.
12. Member account, password and security
Registering and using the Selfridges website may involve you setting up an account and giving a password. You are fully responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and the password, and all activities that occur under your account or password. You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorised use of your account or password and any breach of security or misuse or suspected breach of security or misuse of the service, and ensure that you exit from your account at the end of each session if you use a shared computer. Selfridges cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this Clause 12.
13. Content/Activity Prohibited
13.1 Please choose carefully the information you post on the Selfridges website and that you provide to other users. You must not misuse the Selfridges website. You will not: send or otherwise post unauthorised commercial communications to users (such as spam); upload viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other malicious code; corrupt data; cause annoyance to others users; post content that is hateful, threatening, pornographic, or that contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence; use the Selfridges website to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious or discriminatory; facilitate or encourage any violation of these Terms and Conditions.
