The Museum of Everything
The Museum of Everything is Britain’s only museum dedicated to art by the untrained, unintentional and unknown artists of our planet. Since 2009 it has exhibited in London and across Europe and welcomed over 200,000 visitors.
Exhibition #4 at Selfridges features over 400 drawings, paintings and sculptures from international studios for contemporary self-taught artists with learning and other disabilities. This celebration of creation occupies over 15,000 square feet, making it the largest art collaboration in the history of the store.
Sailing across the windows of Oxford Street, The Museum of Everything has designed ten installations to showcase the work of its favourite Exhibition #4 artists. The corner window contains an original masterpiece by visionary German self-taught architect, Stefan Hafner from Atelier Goldstein in Germany.
Inside the store you can discover the show itself, cramming the entire Ultralounge space with hundreds of works of art, plus The Films of Everything, showing the artists busy in their studios. Just follow the red arrows and venture inside the red and white striped canopy (right opposite Dolly’s restaurant). Entrance is free, although The Museum of Everything does ask a £2 donation if you are able to afford it as it is a registered charity.
When you’re done, head upstairs to The Shop of Everything where you can buy postcards, prints and books from this and other shows, plus all manner of interesting paraphernalia and gifts - from comfy sleepmasks to wooly hats to Oyster Card Holders, plus fashion collaborations with Tracey Neuls and Clements Ribeiro.
