The brand hails from Los Angeles, where Mr Perse started his label after growing up around his father's boutique and developing a love for sports. These two things formed the inspiration for James Perse clothing, with the designer first creating a line of baseball caps and T-shirts before delving into women's knitwear. After gaining a following with these projects, the eponymous marque was born, building on the designer's previous success.
