Standing at the edge of Margadale spring,
Bunnahabain – meaning ‘mouth of the river’ in Gaelic – is the most northerly distillery on Islay. Produced with water sourced on site, this 25 year-old whiskey is matured without chill-filtration in sherry oak casks, earning it a fruity, nutty palate. The un-peated single-malt opens on the nose with notes of sweet toffee and polished leather that develop into spicier nutmeg, with a lingering caramel finish.
