Fashion photographer Mert Alas is so partial to a gin on the rocks before a night out that he spent four years distilling one of his own; meet Seventy One, the gin that’s here to get the party started. Its name stems from the 71 nights it spends three different oak casks and, in an ode to the mystery of nightlife, the bottle mimics the perfume you spritz before leaving the house. One of the complex botanicals chosen by Alas is the orchid cactus, Queen of the Night, which blooms for just a single night a year and imparts a jasmine-like delicacy.
