Ilegal Añejo mezcal 700ml

John Rexer started out transporting unbranded mezcal from Oaxaca to Antigua to sell in his bar. The Mexican spirit soon became so popular with his customers that he founded Ilegal (a fitting name for what began as a smuggling operation) and commenced producing his own, including this rich Añejo. Aged for 13 months in American oak barrels, it’s bursting with notes of maple and clove, with an intense dark chocolate flavour on the palate that rivals the finest cognacs and scotches.
