State of Escape’s distinctive tote bags can be seen casually flung over the shoulders of fashion-savvy women, whether they're on the way to the office or stepping out in the sunshine for a leisurely stroll. Close friends Desley Maidment and Brigitte MacGowan, both from Sydney, co-founded the label in 2013. The unique neoprene fabrication on every State of Escape bag is cut and patterned individually. This old-school production makes it feel incredibly unique and so far from mass-produced.

The bags are designed to be the embodiment of escaping, whether that be for daily errands, a local weekend away or international travel. Colours range from classic black, white and navy to fresh neutrals like oat and stone and beach-ready brights like olive, chartreuse and salmon.
