The Eames’ home acted as a refuge from the demands of modern life, with the couple hosting here their famous group of friends. The iconic Lounge Chair & Ottoman was designed to embody this harbourage, resembling a “well-used first baseman’s mitt” that brings comfort to the body. Vitra’s scaled-down design is part of the Miniatures Collection, but maintains the same bent plywood and leather construction, mimicking its life-sized counterpart.
