They don’t call Mortlach “The Beast of Dufftown” for no good reason. You’ll find all the proof you need in this 2019 Special Release. Drawn from fresh-toasted, first-fill Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso Sherry casks, this 26-year-old dram is a rare release, alive with hardy notes of leather and polished wood on the nose. Balanced out with dried apricot and dates, the woody whisky is sweetened on the palate with chocolate and vanilla notes. Hint: such a long finish deserves to be enjoyed on the rocks.
