Self Discoveries: five things you don’t want to miss at Selfridges this week

Welcome to Self Discoveries – a weekly round-up of our favourite happenings across Selfridges’ four stores. From new Kosher cuisine to the second phase of our shiny-new Beauty Hall at Manchester Trafford, here are the top five things not to miss at Selfridges this week.

Everyone needs a jet suit, right? – Selfridges London

Yes, you read correctly: you can now live out your wildest James Bond dreams with the 1050bhp Jet Suit by Gravity Industries (see the video above for proof), available in Technology on LG at Selfridges London. The suit allows you to fly into the sky at the touch of a button (while looking rather dapper, we must say) and you can even enjoy a full VR experience in store, courtesy of HTC’s amazing VIVE headset. Just avoid taking your vodka martini with you, as it will likely become a little too shaken, not stirred!

Chloé pop up – Selfridges London

Since French designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi took the helm at Chloé last season, she has given the classic Chloé girl some serious Parisienne attitude. As the designer explains, “the Chloé woman is not a phantasme. She’s very real, she’s in the street, not a fantasy world.” Now, a brilliant new pop-up has opened at Selfridges London (until 5 August), with a range of bag personalisation services and exclusive styles. We say: make your mark, Chloé style.

Introducing our new Kosher deli – Selfridges London

Looking to serve a top-notch Kosher dinner or simply to dine more consciously? At Kosher by Hermolis (our new Kosher deli, located in the Foodhall at Selfridges London), quality Kosher cuisine is on the menu – from chicken schnitzels and breaded lamb chops to traditional fried fish balls. Plus, make sure you stop by on Thursdays and Fridays, when our chef will be serving up a selection of specials – perfect for your Shabbat dinner!

Now open: the second phase of our new-look Beauty Hall – Selfridges Manchester Trafford

Head to Selfridges Manchester Trafford from Monday 23 July when we will be revealing the second phase of our shiny-new Beauty Hall on Lower Level. The latest phase will welcome luxury cosmetics brand Hourglass while also showcasing brand-new counters from the likes of Dior, Charlotte Tilbury, Jo Malone London, La Mer and Tom Ford. And there’s still more to come! By the time the final phase of the transformation completes, in September, the Beauty Hall will have doubled in size and will be home to a whopping 170 beauty brands, including 80 new labels and 25 brands exclusive to Selfridges in Manchester.

Louboutin boutique opens at the Bullring – Birmingham

Shoe lovers rejoice! The very first Christian Louboutin shoe boutique in the West Midlands has just opened its doors at Selfridges Birmingham. Hot off the heels of the store’s new Shoe Galleries launch in March, the new boutique, located on our new-look level 4, is a red-soled haven – including new-season, bestsellers and exclusive-to-Selfridges styles.
