Sarah Burton’s SS20 collection for Alexander McQueen centred around a coming together of people and traditional handcrafts, “I wanted it to be about stripping back, the immediacy of the clothes and the time it takes to make them”, she stated after the show. Cotton and silk are spun together to form these shorts. Delicately framed in lace, inspired by the London Stitch School, down the front and along the trailing draped trims. A sharply tailored shirt is all you need.
