Acting as talismans and amulets, the pieces Giulia Tavani creates for her jewellery line anGostura are aged and burnished to create an ancient aesthetic that echoes the designer’s “desire to evoke tribe and ancient eras.” Case in point: this Thumb Knuckle ring. Shaped from silver and gold-plated brass, it’s moulded to the shape of a thumb that immortalises every groove and is fitted with a smouldering zirconia at the base.
