‘Legendary’ isn’t a term we use lightly, but it might just be an understatement for footwear designer Manolo Blahnik. A true artisan, he freehand sketches each design, whittles down the lasts and cuts the patterns of each prototype himself – as he has done for almost 50 years. As iconic as the man himself, the Hangisi courts are cut from supple leather and topped with a handmade Swarovski crystal-encrusted buckle that’s inspired by those worn by European society ladies in paintings from the late 19th century.
