Girlfriend Collective's circular attitude to activewear is making the athleisure industry sit up and take note. Identifying a gap in the market for more sustainable sportswear, husband-and-wife duo Quang and Ellie Dinh launched the ethical apparel label in 2016. Their target customer? The conscious consumer in search of guilt-free performancewear.

The Seattle-based brand may pride itself on transparency, but that's one thing you won't have to worry about when it comes to wearing the label's internet-famous leggings. Our Girlfriend Collective range is stocked with opaque designs that pass the squat test with flying colours: no see-through fabrics here. Crafted from anti-pilling fabrics that won't shrink or bobble in the wash, each piece also boasts impressive eco-credentials. Compression leggings are made from 25 recycled plastic bottles, while 11 are used to make the company's sports bras – so you can go to the gym wearing material that would otherwise have ended up in landfill.

Creating a sculpted fit with no gaping, these super-smooth tops, leggings and bralettes wick away moisture and offer architectural support. Every lunge, sprint and downward dog pose is an altogether more comfortable experience. It's easier than ever to shop Girlfriend Collective and spot its environment-friendlier pieces thanks to our green 'Project Earth' symbol: an earth-conscious badge that champions planet-conscious styles.
