Having made its debut in 1966, Les Forts de Latour is the second wine of Bordeaux's Château Latour and continues to impress with this 2005 vintage. As soon as it hits the glass (or decanter, even), it releases a heady aroma of blackcurrant, cassis, subtle spice and even a hint of liquorice. Bringing a smooth silkiness to the palate, it's one to sip slowly through several courses of beef or juicy red meats.
