Royal Lochnagar’s Scotch whisky was a favourite of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert – now how’s that for a recommendation? Thankfully, we no longer have to live next to Balmoral castle to get our hands on this 12-year bottle. Refined in one of the smallest distilleries in the Highlands, this single malt will give you full-bodied notes of oak, malted barley and citrusy peel, rounding off with a palate of toasted spices and soft, brown sugar.
