Vitra pays tribute to an icon of post-war American Modernism with the Womb chair and ottoman from its Miniatures Collection. Designer Eero Saarinen, who came up with the idea in 1946, wanted to allow for a variety of sitting positions for ultimate comfort. It was the first piece of mass-produced furniture to be made with a glass-fibre reinforced plastic shell, and it includes two foam cushions for the chair, and one for the ottoman.
