BURBERRY AT THE SELFRIDGES CORNER SHOP

2 MARCH - 5 JULY

Adventure awaits at The Selfridges Corner Shop (as well as some rather
brilliant accessories), all thanks to our friends at Burberry…

Inspired by the intrepid expeditions of historic Antarctic explorers, Burberry has transformed our Corner Shop space into a world where penguins roam and sleds set off into the snow, silk-scarf sails fluttering in the wind.

Step by the waddle of penguins (more on them, later) and discover the collection of Burberry summer accessories that celebrates the brand’s rich heritage with a fresh, forward-facing twist.

From limited-edition accessories – the exclusive quilted Lola in black and Selfridges yellow is a personal favourite – to bucket hats, water bottles and bum bags, it’s a line-up of brilliant pieces that will stand the test of time (and a trip to the Antarctic, if you’re so inclined).

For Chief Creative Officer Riccardo Tisci, Burberry’s 165-year history is rife with brilliant design references but music is a constant source of inspiration, too. At his SS20 show, a huge Victorian-style speaker set-up dominated the catwalk floor – its oversized gramophone horns blasting dubstep tunes.

Look closer at our brilliantly crafted snow sleds within the Corner Shop and you’ll find they’ve been crafted from speaker stacks – a riff on the power of freedom and expression that is found in both travel and powerful music. As Riccardo told British Vogue: “I think music is one of the things that gives the most freedom of expression for young generations.”

Head to The Selfridges Corner Shop at Selfridges Oxford Street, London, to discover the amazing space – and experience our brilliant Augmented Reality moment, where you’ll find our adorable penguins come to life before your very eyes.
