Words: Chekii Harling

Dreams are often a subconscious reflection of what’s happening around us, so it’s hardly surprising that our slumbering minds have been wandering into bizarre places lately.

That’s why, in this month’s edition of 0800-PSYCHIC-SISTERS, we’re here to help you interpret what all those dreams might mean, with a handy quick-reference guide, expert insights from our very own Psychic Sisters, and the chance to book your online dream reading session.

DREAM THEMES: THE QUICK-REFERENCE GUIDE

Here, our Psychic Sisters give a snapshot of what some recurring themes and motifs in your dreams might mean...

THE EXPERTS’ INTERPRETATIONS

Find out what the Psychic Sisters have been dreaming about lately, and their expert tips on interpreting your dreams.

Jayne Wallace, Founder of the Psychic Sisters

What do you often dream about?

I often feel like I’m flying – that symbolises taking control of your destiny and fears. I also dream a lot about animals, and each animal symbolises something different. Dogs represent loyalty and honesty. If you dream about dogs a lot, it means there are people around you that you feel you can trust. Cats, on the other hand, symbolise needing more emotional support; they symbolise giving. Dreaming of eagles, meanwhile, represents reconnecting and feathers symbolise lost loved ones. If you dream of rainbows, this represents the fulfilment of dreams and ambitions – think gold at the end of the rainbow. I often dream of rainbows in videos; it’s like I’m sitting in the cinema.

What role do dreams play in our everyday lives?

Dreams are there to give us knowledge and to guide us in the direction that we’re meant to be going. The readings we do are there to help people accomplish what they want and what they need, and to allow people to move forward.

Jayne’s top tip:

For happy dreams and to de-stress before bed, focus on a colour that makes you feel happy and breathe that colour in and out.

Recurring dreams always have messages within as to why you are having them.

What’s a dream that’s stuck with you?

I remember being in a hotel lobby, and every time I blinked, I was somewhere different in the hotel. I would leave the lift only to find myself in the same corridor that I had been in previously. I became aware that in the dream I was searching for my mum who left us two years ago. Next thing you know, I’m approaching a little terrace café with white wrought-iron chairs. It was a beautiful day; the sun was shining; there were beautiful butterflies everywhere and little birds singing in the trees. It was here that I noticed my mum sitting, looking like the most beautiful dream-like version of her. Often, spirits come to us in dreams – it’s very common. I knew that this dream was a message from my mum: she was telling me that she was safe.

How can you tell if a dream is important or not?

It’s usually the ones that we remember that mean something. If you have to make yourself remember it, then those are the ones you should let go.

Sheila’s top tip:

When you first wake up, step back from the dream and write down as much as you can remember. Focus on keywords – recurring dreams will always have messages within as to why you are having them.

Sue Phillips, part-time Psychic Sister,
part-time shaman

What’s one of your most notable dreams?

This wasn’t a dream as such, but it happened in a meditation session. There was one time when I was going to meet an angel in the angelic realm. This turned out to be Archangel Michael, who came out of a very dark tunnel. He was sitting on a rock and put his sword in the sand as if he was exhausted and I remember thinking, ‘oh gosh, you’ve really been fighting the fight, Michael.’ He picked up a pebble in the sand with his sword and a little fairy flew out. This was all about what was once hidden around me becoming visible – it relates to power and what is going right now.

How are you working at the moment, and what other therapies do you practise?

I teach spiritual development, which I’ve recently been teaching on Zoom, and I also practise shamanic therapies that involve healing on lots of levels. Shamans work with the energy of the earth – from Grandfather Sky to Grandmother Earth. The main shamanic method I practise is soul retrieval, which helps those who have had a major incident in their life, and the second is power retrieval. Power retrieval aims to bring control back to the self. When I work, I get clients to do a lot of the visualisations themselves to empower them to do some of this work outside of the sessions. I also do mediumistic readings (where I talk to spirits), hypnotherapy, and dowsing, which involves using a pendulum to do clearance work. Dowsing is particularly effective for fears and allergies.

Sue’s top tip:

Have half a glass of water at bedtime and tell yourself that, when you drink the other half in the morning, you’re going to remember what you dreamt. I used to be a mental-health nurse, so my background is in psychology. This is a great technique that conditions the mind.
