Gucci Men's Shoes

Founded by Guccio Gucci back in 1921, the eponymous label is one of the oldest and greatest Italian powerhouses of all time. Working as a bellboy at London’s most prestigious venue – the Savoy Hotel – the pioneer, took inspiration for the fashion house from the opulent suitcases and trunks carried by the aristocrats checking in. Dreaming up designs associated with the noble’s pastimes, such as horse-riding, he went on to open up his first luxury leather goods store in Florence, followed by the debut of the boutique stores in Rome’s iconic shopping streets of Via Condotti. The rest is, as they say, history.

Fast-forward to today, and Gucci is a household name across the globe, renowned for its equestrian prints and horsebit embellishments extending from its clothing to its collection of signature men’s shoes. The most iconic of all, the Gucci loafer, was created in 1953 to pay homage to the founder’s equestrian infatuation. Carefully crafted from supple leather to a simple silhouette, the footwear is traditionally kept fuss-free with nothing but a metal horsebit embellishment sitting at the tongue. Expanding its collection to offer more casual alternatives, the label went on to create a range of fresh kicks. While the New Ace trainers revive the classic tennis shoe with its selection of playful prints and logo-laden GG designs, the retro Rhythons take their cues from the chunky silhouette of the 90s.
