Viniculture in Lebanon was introduced 6,000 years ago by the Phoenicians, who traded their wines throughout the Mediterranean and planted vines in southern Europe. Today, Chateau Musar is flying the flag for fine wine production in the region. This white wine is somewhat unusual; made with Obaideh and Merwah (local varieties thought to be related to Chardonnay and Semillon), this is made in an oxidative style and shows creamy, honeyed and oaky notes, with some spice and yeast character.
