Meeting people face to face is starting to feel like a distant memory, but with a raft of apps re-creating your favourite nights and working days, we’re finding new and inventive ways to stay connected. But how to dress for these encounters? For some inspiration, we take a look at four stylish characters we’ve come across on our virtual travels…

The Covert Slob

Known for her head-turning fashion looks in the office, our Covert Slob certainly isn’t going to let her stylish standards drop now that she finds herself working from home (well, at least from the waist up, anyway). With video conference meetings filling the diary, it’s operation chic all the way. Her secret weapons? A sharply cut blazer, smart tee and oversized glasses to add that extra dose of fashionable intellect. But below this smart, unflappable top half, it’s a whole different style story. Yes, our Covert Slob has succumbed to the pleasures of an elasticated waist and novelty socks – after all, her colleagues need never know, right?

The Homebound Hypebeast

Friday nights have been reserved for pals in their diary since forever, but now Zoom sessions have replaced the raves and sneaker drop queues, our Homebound Hypebeast is revelling in the sheer joy of not having to get fully dressed.
