Caudalie is the brainchild of Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas, and it all began at the family-run Château Smith Haut Lafitte estate in Bordeaux. After learning that grape seeds are packed with the world's most powerful antioxidants (following a chance encounter with a member of the Pharmacy University of Bordeaux), the intrepid entrepreneurs launched a skincare brand with vines at its heart. 

Caudalie's eco-friendly cleansers, aptly named Vinoclean and Vinopure, are full of natural ingredients for healthy and bright skin: vegan-formulated cleansing oils and pore purifying gels to naturally foaming washes and nourishing almond milks. And whether they benefit from nourishing seed oil, grape water, or plant extracts from Bordeaux, Champagne, and Burgundy, the naturally active grapevine is intertwined into every bottle. 

If you want to maintain a naturally balanced complexion, Caudalie's micellar water is bursting with organic fruit for hydrated, clearer and softer results. Or, if you're after a more vigorous cleanse, the exfoliators with volcanic sand microbeads will do just that. And to repay nature for its virtuous ingredients, the brand pledges 1% of global sales to fund reforestation projects and has planted and protected over 4 million trees worldwide.
