With a bold industrial design and a magical sound quality as striking as its intense Onyx Black finish, Astell&Kern’s new flagship high-resolution portable music player, the Astell & Kern A&ultima SP1000M high-res music player, demands your attention.

The luxuriously crafted device is smaller and lighter than its big brother, the SP1000, thanks to its use of aluminium in construction and a new 4.1-inch touchscreen display. Its sole purpose is to let you carry the very finest sound in your pocket anytime, anywhere. With a weight of just over 200g, combined with that smaller form factor, you can control the device with one hand.

The SP1000M supports a max resolution of 32 bit/384kHz for PCM files and native playback of DSD256 files. The product has an on-board memory of 128GB, which can be expanded to 528GB via microSD card. Completing the package is a USB 3.0 (C type) for exceptionally fast charging and enabling fast data transfer.

The striking Onyx Black finish has its origins in an ancient precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its intense colour. The “M” in SP1000M does not stand for a specific word, but rather encompasses multiple core principles the product aims to pursue. Mini: it is smaller than the SP1000; mobility: it is more portable and can used at anytime, anywhere; maximum: it produces the highest-quality sound.
