Andrew and Cynthia Hendry’s love of fine
wine and food led them into winemaking, and they bought the land near Auckland on which
Coopers Creek was established in 1980, with the aim of producing the very highest quality wines. This was really the dawn of the modern New Zealand wine, as domestic consumers discovered there was more to life than sweetish Müller-Thurgau! This is one of the few Albarinos from outside of Spain that actually taste like the grape should - lots of ripe citrus and stone fruit, with a touch of richness on the finish.
