Working with artisans in New Delhi,
Karu Research utilises centuries-old Indian textiles and techniques to create its designs. Take this shirt from the SS23 collection, for example. It’s crafted using a method called Bhujodi weaving, whereby the cotton is handmade using a traditional loom to achieve intricate patterns. Vibrant checks are then naturally dyed onto the material and it’s cut to a boxy, dropped-shoulder silhouette with a spread collar and patch pocket.
