The company was founded in 1964 by Romano Seletti, originally to import tableware from the East to sell in markets close to his home in Cicognara, Mantova. When his son, Stefano, joined the company aged just 17 in 1987, he brought with him a passion for pop art. This shifted the brand towards making the contemporary, quirky pieces we know today. A bone china vase may have a classical shape, but look more closely and you'll see a stepped rim, a modern motif or an arresting slogan. Look out too for the label's signature hybrid range, which gives the impression of assorted fragments fused together with gleaming metallic veins.
