The 2nd wine of Chateau Leoville Las Cases,
Clos du Marquis Saint Julien is somewhat unusual as it is a wine in its own right, coming from different vines and terroir to the "grand vin". The owners themselves think of this wine, which first appeared in 1902, as an entirely different entity to Leoville Las Cases. The wine shows good cherry and berry fruit on the nose, with a lovely pencil lead freshness and some leafy blackcurrant character.
