Meet the
Maekake, aka the traditional Japanese apron. All authentic
Maekake (including this one) come from the same place in Japan, Toyohashi City, where they've been made using the same techniques for 250 years, give or take (and if they've made it through 250 years already, we're pretty confident they'll go the distance in our own kitchens, too). This incredibly durable, indigo-dyed cotton apron is decorated with a print from Japanese artist Sharaku.
