1. Tartan-talising

Chopova Lowena, Elder Carabiner tartan-print upcycled-wool mini skirt, £1,200

Designers Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena specialise in creative upcycling. The London duo works with skilled Bulgarian seamstresses who turn deadstock fabric and repurposed wool – usually pillows and aprons – into these one-of-a-kind kilts. This one, made from repurposed wool and contrasting pleats of tartan, was a hit at the brand’s London Fashion Week debut for SS23.

2. A-Dior-able

Jennifer Gibson Jewellery, Dior rhodium-plated metal earrings, £625

During his 30-year career at Dior, Marc Bohan designed the now-iconic Oblique pattern. In the 00s, the graphic print covered everything from lipstick cases and bags to bikinis and prams. Now, pre-loved jewellery expert Jennifer Gibson Jewellery has made it that much easier to add a touch of Y2K to your outfit by unearthing these earrings.

3. Home refresh

LOEWE, Ivy room diffuser refill, £95

A signature scent is a great way to refresh your home for spring. Loewe’s Ivy room diffuser is the perfect pick for the season. Not only is the fragrance floral and uplifting, the diffuser is also refillable. Once the original ceramic vase is empty, top it back up with this refill bottle and keep that signature scent flowing.

4. Suit yourself

Selfridges Rental, Jacquemus La Novi cotton blazer, rent from £44

Suiting has had the starch knocked out of it. Slouchy, unstructured tailoring was all over SS23 runways – these pieces are perfect for taking a more laidback approach to event dressing. If you’re getting ready for summer weddings, look to Selfridges Rental for this asymmetric Jacquemus blazer – relaxed tailoring at its finest.

5. A scorcher

Mugler, embossed sleeveless faux-leather mini dress, rent from £71

Mixing futurism with risqué bodycon, Creative Director Casey Cadwallader continues Mugler’s appreciation of women’s bodies. Take this mini dress from Selfridges Rental: slick, oxblood-red faux leather, embossed with geometric patterns and chevrons, highlights the contours of the body. If your summer schedule is full of drinks and dinners, take this date-night dress for a spin.

6. Wave watcher

Bucherer Certified Pre-owned, Rolex J32210 Oyster Perpetual Submariner stainless-steel automatic watch, £12,000

Rolex’s Submariner watches – recognised by their luminescent hour markers and fluted bezels – have been known as the gold standard in diving watches since 1954. This model is certified by Bucherer as being over 30 years old, and it’s still robust enough to withstand 300m of water resistance. So, whether you swim, surf or scuba, this one’s for you.

7. If I were a Boy

RESELFRIDGES, Pre-loved Chanel Chevron Boy leather shoulder bag, £4,300

Inspired by Coco Chanel’s great love, Arthur “Boy” Capel, Karl Lagerfeld created the Boy bag in 2011. Boxy, with a blocky lock clasp and classic metal chain, the bag was an instant hit. Since then, it’s been reworked in various sizes, finishes and materials. Lean into SS23’s silver accessories trend with this 2016 pre-loved chevron edition from our secondhand edit.

8. Hands-free

MJB – Marc Jacques Burton, Grenade flap-pocket straight-leg recycled-nylon cargo trousers, £1,000

Marc Jacques Burton’s namesake brand MJB champions uniqueness. Here, the label has turned grenade pouches made from recycled nylon into cargo trousers. No bags are necessary if you’re wearing them, and they’re bound to turn heads on their own.

9. Bottled it

Patagonia, P-6 Logo Responsibili-Tee recycled cotton and recycled polyester-blend T-shirt, £45

On a mission to make clothing with less environmental impact, Patagonia created the Responsibili-Tee T-shirt. Stamped with the brand’s classic logo, it’s created from plastic bottles, scrap material and a blend of recycled cotton and polyester. This uses 96 per cent less water than classic cotton tees and reduces the amount of CO2 produced. And it’s every ounce as good for layering.

10. Sunny side up

Humanrace, Ozone Face Protection daily moisturiser refill, £49

The brainchild of Pharrell Williams, Humanrace is a skincare range that prepares, repairs and protects all skin types. But the brand goes beyond skin deep; it’s passionate about the planet’s wellbeing, too. The collection – including this coral-reef safe, hydrating SPF 30 daily moisturiser – is completely refillable, meaning there’s not a single-use plastic in sight.
