Though the Dry River estate was established in 1979, the name dates back to the 1800s as one of the earliest sheep stations of Wairarapa. Since the vineyards were first planted, gravelly, well-drained soil, dry autumns and low temperatures have contributed to strong flavour, character and intensity. The Pinot Noir is biodynamically produced and aged for 120 months in French oak, resulting in a smooth red with aromas of ripe plum, granite, rich pudding and spice.
