In the space of a few short years since the first vintage in 2007, Riglos has scooped some big awards and wowed many a pundit. Friends and co-founders Dario Werthein and Fabian Suffern were not mucking about when they hired the wonderful poet-oenologist Pulqui Rodriguez and winemaker-consultant Paul Hobbs to get things off to a flying start. The estate, called Finca Las Divas, is in the very special Uco Valley enclave of Gualtallary and its grapes are much in demand from some of the biggest names in Argentine wine. As the Riglos reputation steadily gains in stature, there are fewer and fewer grapes to sell and more and bottles to label. This Sauvignon Blanc manages to balance ripe tropical fruit with lovely fresh acidity and grassy character, resulting in a textured and elegant wine.
