Chances are, you probably haven’t heard of Saint Hildegard of Bingen, but the progressive medieval polymath, who was born in 1098, served as the inspiration behind
Gabriela Hearst’s AW21 collection. The monastic influences can be seen in the likes of the
Mortimer cape, which opened the show. It’s whipped up in a sumptuous bouclé to a floor-sweeping silhouette that’s topped with a high neck and finished with contrasting trims.
