From the designer dubbed the Lord of Darkness, Rick Owens's DRKSHDW diffusion line is exactly what you might expect. Created in 2005, this is a streetwear-orientated collection of contemporary style staples from the LA-based designer. Look out for hoodies, jackets and trainers with a glam grunge aesthetic.

Rick Owens's menswear and womenswear have many similarities. Structured designs and simple silhouettes run throughout the range, with gentle tapering and drawstring waists a frequent feature. Dresses and T-shirts are designed to drape gently across the body and the fit tends to be on the relaxed side. Embellishments such as zips, pockets and ties have been thoughtfully placed to catch the eye. Of course, when it comes to colour one shade reigns supreme, but as well as black you can also expect to see subdued tones of monochromatic greys and neutrals.

The mood is laid-back but not without impact. This is a label that's meant to be noticed, which is why silver-toned hardware appears on exposed zips and buttons across much of the DRKSHDW men's and women's lines. Dropped shoulders, asymmetric sleeves and uneven hemlines are other recurring attention-grabbers. This carefully crafted loungewear also works well for casual nights out or sightseeing on a city break.
