Zadig&Voltaire Tops

When we want to flaunt our rock'n'roll attitude, we throw on a Zadig & Voltaire top. The punchy Parisian fashion house was founded in 1997 by Thierry Gillier, whose great-grandfather had been one of the founders of Lacoste. His family's clothing empire offered him the opportunity to experiment with fabrics to hone his skill and rebel aesthetic. The name? It pays tribute to two muses: the French writer of the enlightenment, Voltaire, and the philosopher-protagonist of one of his novellas, Zadig.

It's no surprise, therefore, to find punk-themed pieces in our selection. Statement slogans and bold graphics are scattered across tees and hoodies for an eye-catching effect. While the brand's messaging may show a devil-may-care attitude, you'll notice that the structure of each garment is given detailed consideration; slim or oversized cuts, dropped hems and tailored cuffs create an intentionally controlled look that contrasts with those slogans. Look out for lacy trims, button detailing and gentle pleats giving depth to Zadig and Voltaire women's blouses and shirts.

Slip on a tee with an empowering strapline to form the foundation of your ensemble. Next, don a collared shirt, leaving it unbuttoned for a curated carelessness. When the temperature drops, pull on a Zadig & Voltaire jumper with a provocative tagline to keep the conversation supercharged.
