Aquazzura

Launched in 2011, Aquazzura has quickly risen to fame for its distinct handmade creations. The Aquazzura sandals collection comes from Colombian Creative Director Edgardo Osorio. From his Florence base, he combines his innovative designs with fine Italian craftsmanship to bring you shoes with vibrant colour palettes and bold flourishes.

In Selfridges' Aquazzura selection, satin slingback pumps become works of art when adorned with twisting metallic ornaments or finished in a glimmering textile. Standalone bows build structure and wrap-around embellishments produce a bejewelled effect at the ankle. Osorio is not afraid to shy away from the theatrical, either, incorporating shimmering crystals into many of his styles to create pieces with drama.

You'll find transparent panels with gem details or stark black contrasts to draw the eye. The label uses pastels and neutral shades alongside metallics, completing each article with its signature golden pineapple emblem on the sole. It also mixes different materials, such as leather and PVC, for textural variety. Delicate feathers adorn suede slip-ons and barely-there straps connect to the soles. As well as its dedication to aesthetics, we love that Aquazzura uses padded insoles across its range of stilettos - showing that style and comfort really can walk hand-in-hand.
