Known as the founding father of Japanese whisky, Masataka Taketsuru studied the art of distillation in Scotland before returning to his home country and setting up Nikka’s whisky production in a region that reminded him of the Highlands. This limited edition of single malt from the brand’s Miyagikyo distillery is part of the “Nikka Discovery” series – an insight into its experiments and explorations. It’s crafted solely from peated malt, creating a honeyed tipple with bold notes of wood fire smoke, sweet earth and fruity vanilla.
