Basil Hayden created his first bourbon in 1796, no less, where he used a traditional corn base but went against the norm by adding rye into the concoction. The result was a well-balanced flavour unlike its contemporaries. Toasted cereal, popcorn and marshmallow will hit your palette, with a peppermint aroma that’s finished off with lashings of butter. An amber tipple to be sipped slowly and savoured.
