While Puilly-Fuissé doesn't grow its own grapes, the estate's meticulous sampling and choosing of parcels across the region allows it to reveal an even broader expression of Burgundy's terroir. In the case of this Les Combes Vieilles Vignes, the star is chardonnay grapes that were grown on 70-year-old vines and vinified in 25% new barrels. Aged for up to seven months, it reveals ripe nectarine, pear and empyreumatic notes.
